Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne Receives Top Regional Honor for Sponsoring Talented
Minority Youth Interns



CANOGA PARK, Calif., Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne has
been recognized by INROADS -- an international organization that helps
corporations develop and place talented minority youth in business and
industry and prepare them for corporate and community leadership.  In
addition, two Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne employees who are former INROADS
interns were recognized by the organization for their achievements.  Pratt &
Whitney Rocketdyne is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) company. 


Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne received the 2009 INROADS Sponsoring Company of the
Year Award at the Southwest Region's Annual Awards Banquet in Anaheim, Calif. 
The company was honored for exceeding all INROADS expectations by its
commitment to the education and professional training of ethnically diverse
college students by embracing them in the corporate culture through INROADS
internships.  Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne sponsored 15 INROADS interns in the
Southwest region in 2009.

Two Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne employees also were honored.  Zanea Taylor, a
former INROADS intern who works as a Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne Human
Resources client manager supporting Supply Management, was nominated for
Business Coordinator of the Year and Alumnus of the Year.  Former INROADS
Intern Tamuto Takakura was nominated for the Frank C. Carr Community Service
Award, named in honor of the founder of INROADS.
