CORRECTING and REPLACING PHOTO New Series of Seiko Instruments Kiosk Printers Sets the Bar for Self-Service Performance and Reliability TORRANCE, Calif.--(Business Wire)-- Please replace the photo with the accompanying corrected photo. The release reads: NEW SERIES OF SEIKO INSTRUMENTS KIOSK PRINTERS SETS THE BAR FOR SELF-SERVICE PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILITY Seiko Instruments USA Inc. (SIU) Thermal Printer Division, http://www.siiprinters.com, a globally recognized leader in thermal printer technology, today introduced three high-performance additions to its APU-9000 line of kiosk printers. The new C series kiosk printers deliver unsurpassed performance and reliability, with blazingly fast 250 mm/sec print speeds, a minimum 150 kilometers total output, and over one million cuts. With support for extreme temperatures -- from -20C to +60C -- the printers are an ideal choice for indoor and outdoor kiosk deployment. A very small footprint and a choice of 2-, 3-, and 4-inch print width models give significant design flexibility, ensuring easier integration in retail, self-checkout, healthcare, hospitality, and banking self-service applications. "These new high-performance kiosk printers demonstrate our commitment to providing innovative solutions for the growing self-service sector," said Kaz Onishi, Vice President and General Manager, Seiko Instruments USA. "The new C series models offer an unbeatable combination of speed, reliability, and design flexibility." The new C series printers extend the existing Seiko Instruments APU-9000 kiosk printer line. The 2- and 3-inch print width models are available now, and a 4-inch model is planned for Q4 this year. The printers are based on the industry's leading direct thermal printer mechanism: the Seiko Instruments CAP9000. The rugged CAP9000 was developed specifically for the demanding requirements of high-performance indoor and outdoor kiosk applications. The unsurpassed performance and reliability of the CAP9000 directly improves self-service application user experience, reducing wait time while receipts print and lowering kiosk operating costs. Measuring 5.5" (wide) by 6.5" (deep) by 5.2" (high), the small footprint of the 2- and 3-inch printer models eases integration. The printers offer 203 dots per inch (dpi) resolution, accommodate a wide range of media thicknesses, and can operate as a ticket printer or receipt printer. USB, Serial, and Parallel connectivity are supported, and an optional looping presenter further improves reliability. About Seiko Instruments Inc.
