The following statement may be attributed to Roger Cochetti, Group
Director of U.S. Public Policy for the Computing Technology Industry
Association (CompTIA):
WASHINGTON--(Business Wire)--
"CompTIA hails Congressional passage of its economic stimulus
bill. Among its several provisions, increasing deductions for small
business equipment purchases, accelerating depreciation of capital
assets, and putting a tax rebate into the pockets Americans will
enable U.S. businesses, laborers and the IT industry to keep our
economy resilient and strong.

"More specifically, the package will incentivize the purchase of
IT. This will create powerful cascading benefits - small-to-large
businesses will more rapidly bring new IT online, boosting
competitiveness; laborers will have newer IT tools with which to be
more productive; and average Americans will be more likely to purchase
IT, decreasing the digital divide.

"With this infusion into the U.S. economy, Congress has taken
targeted yet aggressive steps to stem the tide of the present economic
downturn. We congratulate theirs and the Administration's bi-partisan
efforts."
