Net Care Launches Earthquake Early Warning Support Package
TOKYO--(Business Wire)--Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774),
one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network
solutions providers, and Net Care, Inc., the IIJ Group contact center
and network operation outsourcing company, today announced the
February 1, 2008, release of the Earthquake Early Warning Support
Package ("EqCare").

TheEqCare package is a solution that includes the following services.
IIJ Earthquake Early Warning Distribution Service
This service receives Earthquake warnings from the Japan
Meteorological Agency and forwards them to customers over the
Internet.
IIJ Fiber Access/F Service
This service provides Internet connectivity, including router
rental.
Earthquake Early Warning Analysis System
This service provides a computer that has Fujitsu FIP
Corporation's AlertStation EQ installed.
Earthquake Early Warning Display Terminal
This service provides a Patlite Corporation, FTE-D04 display
terminal.

The EqCare service provides customers with an Internet connection
and router that serves as an independent hotline that exists alongside
the existing network. Customers also receive a dedicated computer
terminal that contains a pre-configured Early Earthquake Warning
Analysis System, and by assembling the system, the customer can start
using the Early Earthquake Warnings immediately. When using the
special display device, the expected strength and arrival time of the
shock is displayed along with the activation of a warning buzzer, and
a countdown display, notifying the customer of impending danger. This
system can also be connected to the company PA system to notify
employees of the broadcast, giving them time to prepare for the jolt,
or to shut down running machinery in the factory or warehouse.
The IIJ Group will continue to develop network services to meet
