BANGKOK, Thailand--(Business Wire)--
Once again TAITRONICS Taipei, one of the most historical
electronics professional shows in Taiwan, has successfully outreached
overseas. The third TAITRONICS BANGKOK opened amidst a gracious and
elegant traditional Thai greeting dance at the Bangkok International
Trade & Exhibition Center on July 10th. This show, being reputed as
one of the most professional B2B information and communication shows
in Southeast Asia, has the participation of 110 manufacturers from
Taiwan, Thailand, and India, who are using 220 booths. On the first
day of the show, there were already around 1,200 buyers visiting and
purchasing at display. Representative Thai media such as English
newspaper The Nation, Thai financial and commercial professional daily
news Krungtep Turakij, TV station Channel 5, cable TV Channel 1, and
TNN, also came to cover the show. Such a media turnout underscored the
success of this overseas event.

Director Mr. Moses Yen of TAITRA (the Taiwan External Trade
Development Council), the organizer, indicated during the opening
ceremony that bilateral trade volume last year (2007) between Taiwan
and Thailand was US$8.67 billion, an 11.71% growth compared to the
previous year, a growth that has continued over the past six years.
Advanced electronics and information industries of Taiwan have made
crucial progress. Mr. Roy Y.Y. Wu, representative from the Taipei
Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand and Mr. Cheng-Yung Hsu, Vice
Minister of the Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission were invited to
speak at the opening ceremony. Coordinator Roy Y.Y. Wu said that
Thailand is Taiwan's largest trade partner in Southeast Asia and close
economic and trade exchange between the two countries, which encompass
the electronic and automobile industries, have been established since
1990, when Taiwan started to promote the southbound policy.

Vice Minister Cheng-Yung Hsu pointed out that current investment
in Thailand from Taiwan, which has reached US$12.13 billion, has made
Taiwan the third largest investing country in Thailand, second only to
Japan and the United States and that investment enthusiasm is still
growing. Dr. Sakarindr Bhumiratana, President of the National Science
and Technology Development Agency of Thailand who also spoke at the
opening ceremony on behalf of the Thailand government, underscored the
importance of this show to local government. Representatives from the
Thai-Taiwan Business Association, Delta Electronics, Mr. Visit
Limlurcha, Treasurer of the Federation of Thai Industries, and
honorable guests from the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau,
Thai Chamber of Commerce, Thai Association of Electrical and
Electronics Industries (TEEI), and Telecom Equipment Manufacturers
Association of India (TEMA) were all invited to join the ritual to cut
the opening ribbon.

Manufacturers have all been upbeat on TAITRONICS BANGKOK. Besides
Acer, Tatung, Good Will, UMEC, and Taiwan Oasis, enterprises from
Taiwan that are participating in the show on a grand scale, and TEEI
and TEMA all sent delegations to take part in the show. The "Taiwan
Excellence Pavilion" was especially planned for this year's show to
offer a focus spotlight on those innovative products from Taiwan that
have won major industrial design awards around the world. Being
showcased were such items as Eee PC and the M536 intelligent business
mobile phone from Asus, Glee Cube IP TV and heat sink pads for
notebook computers from Gigabyte. More than a hundred enterprises
displayed over a thousand electronic products, a factor that added
depth and value to this show.

TAITRONICS BANGKOK 2008 is organized by TAITRA (the Taiwan
External Trade Development Council) in the name of the Taipei World
Trade Center and the Taiwan Electrical, the Electronic
Manufacturers'Association (TEEMA), and the Thai-Taiwan Business
Association and runs for four days from July 10th to July 13th at the
Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center. With this year's
TAITRONICS BANGKOK being held alongside the local Electronics
Technology Show in the same venue the number of both visitors and
international buyers is expected to reach new heights.
