ObjectVideo OnBoard Analytics Now Available on Intel Architecture
Integration enables customers to add analytics without additional
hardware
RESTON, Va.--(Business Wire)--
ObjectVideo(R), the leader in intelligent video, today announced
the company's industry-leading analytics software is now available on
Intel Architecture (IA) systems. With the integration of the
ObjectVideo(R) OnBoard(TM) suite of analytics software on IA-based
systems, ObjectVideo customers benefit from expanded architecture
flexibility and options that make it significantly easier to embed
analytics throughout the video ecosystem.
"Analytics is fast becoming a mainstream capability of video
surveillance systems. End users are also increasingly looking to
analytics to help solve business intelligence applications," said
Brian Eckert, vice president of sales and marketing for ObjectVideo.
"We meet both challenges head-on with ObjectVideo OnBoard for IA. By
making this software available for millions of existing security
devices, we are dramatically extending the usability of the end-user's
installed video infrastructure."
"There are a variety of surveillance devices based on Intel(R)
architecture in the market today," said Ton Steenman, VP and general
manager of Intel Low-Power Embedded Products Division. "Now that the
ObjectVideo(R) OnBoard(TM) suite is optimized for Intel(R)
architecture, customers can easily integrate intelligent video
capability onto their existing platforms."
ObjectVideo OnBoard on IA is available for both Windows and Linux.
A single channel of full ObjectVideo analytics capability takes fewer
than 5 percent of a 2.2Ghz CPU. Features can be quickly introduced
using ObjectVideo solutions, or more tightly integrated through OV
Ready APIs to create highly differentiated capabilities. OV Ready is
an XML-based intelligent video network protocol that standardizes
ObjectVideo analytic rule, alert and configuration communications. By
creating a common way to exchange information between intelligent
devices and enterprise video management systems (provided by OV Ready
network partners), these essential components become interoperable in
the handling of rules, alerts, count data, forensics metadata and
more.
The result is a network of intelligent, ObjectVideo-enabled
partners, which allows system integrators and end customers to pick
and choose components that best meet business objectives, while
seamlessly delivering powerful ObjectVideo capabilities.
"IA is the foundation of many devices available today. As the IP
video market leader, the opportunity to rapidly expand analytics to
those devices is extremely exciting for us," said Mariann McDonagh,
senior vice president of marketing for Verint Systems Inc. "Making it
easier to add embedded intelligence increases the value of video
solutions and helps make intelligent video practical for organizations
of all sizes."
"Whether it's through our OV Ready protocol or the availability of
our analytics on IA, ObjectVideo is focused on making analytics easier
to deploy and use. We are one step closer to making ObjectVideo
analytics available on any hardware platform and therefore
exponentially easier for customers to add analytics capabilities,"
Eckert added.
