Marc Berger Joins XRoads Solutions Group to Establish Homebuilding Practice

SANTA ANA, Calif., March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Marc Berger, a well known and
highly regarded financial consultant and business entrepreneur, has joined
XRoads Solutions Group of Santa Ana, CA, as a principal to assist real estate
companies that are facing bottom-line challenges due to the eroding housing
and real estate markets.
Mr. Berger, who has extensive experience working with homebuilding and
real estate entities, will head XRoads' newly established Homebuilding
Practice to provide expert advise and financial consulting to companies facing
today's increasing market, financial and operational difficulties. XRoads
also has the capacity to secure debt and equity financing and manage
distressed real estate assets.

Mr. Berger has more than 25 years of experience advising real estate and
homebuilding related firms on strategic alternatives, financial restructurings
and corporate finance transactions. He has extensive expertise in single
family and multifamily development including, acquisitions, dispositions,
valuations, restructurings, and project & entity financings.
Alex Stevenson, co-head of XRoads Corporate Finance Practice, which
includes the Real Estate and Homebuilding practices, said that XRoads
Homebuilding Practice has expertise in all aspects and phases of the
restructuring process from financial advisory services and investment banking
to managing assets that have transitioned to lenders and other investors.

Mr. Berger was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was the

business.
Mr. Berger was also a partner with Arthur Andersen, where he was
responsible for the firm's real estate advisory services practice in the
western region. During the severe economic and real estate downturn of the
early 1990s, he was with Kenneth Leventhal and Company, at that time the
nation's leading real estate accounting and consulting firm. Marc
participated in the workout and financial restructuring of many of the
country's largest real estate companies.
Mr. Berger has led capital formation activities through private placements
and public offerings of debt and equity securities, conventional project,
entity and joint venture financing with both national and international
clients. He is also a seasoned specialist in the retail real estate arena with
experience in strategic planning, implementation, leasing, financing and
restructuring in various sectors including entertainment, high volume food
service, recreation and traditional chain retail. He also has private and
public experience in valuation, acquisition, disposition, merger, leveraged
buyouts and joint ventures.
Mr. Berger earned an MBA with a concentration in Real Estate Finance and a
Bachelor of Arts in Economics. In addition, he has been a licensed real estate
broker in California since 1984 and also holds a California C-53 contractors
license.
