Dr. Nicholas Is Honored by the Episcopal Church at Its General Convention ANAHEIM, Calif.--(Business Wire)-- Dr. Henry "Nick" Nicholas presented a check yesterday for $100,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Orange County and the Right Rev. J. Jon Bruno, bishop diocesan of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, to help the fund-raising effort to build Gordon`s House in memory of Reverend Canon Gordon G. Yeaton of Irvine. The grant from the Henry T. Nicholas, III Foundation brings total Foundation funding provided to Habitat for Humanity to $600,000 since 2007. On Thursday evening Dr. Nicholas was honored by Bishop Bruno at a dinner at the Richard M. Nixon Memorial Library in Yorba Linda. http://www.episcopal-life.org/79901_112288_ENG_HTM.htm The dinner was attended by Episcopal bishops from around the world who had convened in Anaheim for the Episcopal Church`s 76th General Convention, which will be held through July 17. The Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, was among those addressing the global conference. "Over the last several years, our Foundation has been privileged to have the Episcopal Church and Habitat for Humanity as partners," Dr. Nicholas told the audience at the special appreciation dinner for the primates of the Anglican Communion and General Convention volunteer supervisors. "Their values are aligned with our mission of supporting infrastructure, education and spiritual growth." Earlier in the day, Dr. Nicholas joined Rev. Bruno, Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity International and the Yeaton family in the framing and raising of the first walls of Gordon`s House. http://www.episcopalchurch.org/79901_112239_ENG_HTM.htm The event was held at the Anaheim Convention Center, where the General Convention of the Episcopal Church is being held. The house is being built to honor the memory of Rev. Yeaton, an Episcopal priest, board member of Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, teacher, volunteer and activist, who died in 2007. The fund-raising and construction project to build the home for a local low-income family is a joint effort by the Episcopal Church`s LA Diocese and Habitat for Humanity of Orange County. The Foundation`s grant will be added to the $87,000 already raised toward the goal of $250,000 to cover the construction costs. Donations for Gordon`s House are being accepted through a special website at http://www.active.com/donate/gordonshouse. The website honors the memory of Rev. Yeaton, who was known for his sense of humor, dedication to God and passionate commitment to his community and to educating young people. About the HTN Foundation The Henry T.
