BOYERTOWN, Pa.--(Business Wire)--
Gateway Ticketing Systems, Inc., the world leader in high-speed
admission control and ticketing software for the attraction,
amusement, and intercity bus transportation industries, plans to
unveil it's completely redesigned transportation industry software
product next month.

Galaxy for Transportation is a comprehensive Point of Sale (POS)
system developed for ticket agencies in the transportation industry.
The software, a product of twenty years of software development that
includes TX3280, Gateway's first ticketing software solution for the
transportation industry, extends to self-service ticket kiosks and
online sales.

Outstanding features of the new Galaxy for Transportation include
an industry-standard SQL database, anywhere-to-anywhere fare quotes
and the ability to make reservations with seat assignments. These
features are integrated into the comprehensive Galaxy POS. Additional
features offer functionality for remote ticketing through online and
kiosk sales.

TX3280, originally developed and installed at Gateway's first
customer site in 1988, was the only product of its kind at the time,
and it revolutionized ticketing for the transportation industry. Peter
Grumblatt, founder of Gateway Ticketing Systems, recalls what
ticketing was like in the transportation industry prior to the
introduction of TX. "Ticketing and revenue management were done
completely by hand. Tickets were produced using a plastic card swiped
over a multi-part form with carbon copies. There were mountains of
carbon paper at the end of the day and reports were created by hand by
totaling the carbon copies. TX automated most of these tasks and
significantly improved efficiency."

Now the new Galaxy for Transportation takes efficiency to a whole
new level.

Galaxy for Transportation was built based on the knowledge and
experience that Gateway staff has developed by working for years with
the intercity bus transportation industry. Gateway president Michael
Andre says "Galaxy for Transportation is the platform for the future,
upon which we intend to keep building features to benefit the
transportation industry."

Andre said, "No other company has people with twenty years of
experience working on this kind of a product. Gateway has always been
there to meet the changing needs of our customers. We started back in
the days when even modem communication was rare, and it certainly
wasn't high-speed. Now everything is based on the Internet and we
continue to provide solid technology solutions to the industry."

Some of the highlights of the Galaxy for Transportation release
include:

-- The ability to route anywhere-to-anywhere in North America

-- Support for the shared Transportation Automation Standards
        Association (TASA) schedule database

-- Sophisticated fare calculations, supporting point-to-point,
        mileage, and market fares

-- Comprehensive support for fares, tariffs and restrictions,
including the recent changes in Greyhound pricing policies.

-- Carriers have complete control of their pricing, routing,
        scheduling, and sales data

Don Darroch, General Manager of Gateway's Canadian Office reports
that even though TX is still in production at many of Gateway's
transportation customer sites, a shift is taking place. "The industry
is now focused on Web ticket sales, Kiosk sales and recently Admission
Control. Bus companies are really starting to get interested in
scanning tickets before a passenger gets on the bus as a way to lessen
the responsibility of the bus driver. Currently the only admission
control in place is a visual check of the ticket by the bus driver.
Galaxy for Transportation addresses the need for the new sales
channels as well as the requirement for improved admission control."

Gateway's ticketing software has served of a long list of
transportation customers since the company's founding in 1988. Gateway
is pleased to continue to provide cutting-edge technology and a
seamless solution with the release of Galaxy for Transportation.
"Through it all we've maintained our focus on solving our customers'
issues and meeting their needs even as those needs change over time,"
Andre said.
