OKI Launches "Visual Nexus" Video Conference System Designed for Large-scale and Multi-tenant Operation

TOKYO--(Business Wire)--
Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (TOKYO:6703) today announced it
has launched "Visual Nexus(R) ver3.2-3," the latest version of its
video conferencing system, "Visual Nexus," and featuring enhanced
functions for large-scale operation. This system also includes a
multi-tenant function that enables video conferences to be operated
via application service providers, and a server load dispersion
function. The new version will be available to the worldwide market
with shipments slated for July 15, 2008.

"This new Visual Nexus is a perfect solution for companies seeking
to reduce their traveling costs at a time when oil prices are surging.
Companies already equipped with video conferencing systems are also
likely to expand their systems with the increase in usage," said
Atsuhisa Suzuki, President of Visual Nexus Company at OKI. "The Visual
Nexus Ver3.2-3 responds to this trend, offering a highly stable system
to process large amounts of data as operations expand. With the new
functions, OKI enables companies and service providers to maximize
system operation efficiency and reduce system operating costs."

OKI has added the following three functions to the Visual Nexus(R)
 ver3.2-3:
1. Enhancement on basic functions for large-scale operation
Now, users can register up to 5,000 users and devices to be
managed on the video conference system, enabling 1000 devices to
be connected simultaneously to the gatekeeper.
2. Function to disperse server load
This is a function that averages out overall system load by
identifying, from among multiple servers, the one with the least
connection load and automatically allocating connections for
     individual devices.
3. Multi-tenant function to enable ASP operation
The number of service providers offering application services,
including Saas, is expected to increase going forward.
Application service providers need to minimize their capex and
system management load by sharing a system with multiple tenants
(companies). With the multi-tenant function, providers can set
dedicated tenants for each user on a single system, which can
then be managed independently. The system can thus be shared
while maintaining security among tenants. This function enables
     providers to:
-- Add, delete and edit tenants
-- Set up a tenant manager for each tenant and authorize them to
manage parameters such as user, group, conference room for each
     tenant
