Judicial Recount Terminated in the Electoral District of Esquimalt-Juan de Fuca
OTTAWA, ONTARIO, Oct 28 (MARKET WIRE) --
The Chief Electoral Officer of Canada, Marc Mayrand, announced today that
a judicial recount of the votes in Esquimalt-Juan de Fuca (British
Columbia) was terminated at the request of the applicant, after a partial
recount was conducted. As a result, the same validated results stand and
Keith Martin, the candidate of the Liberal Party of Canada, remains the
elected candidate.
At the 40th general election held on October 14, 2008, the difference
between the Liberal Party of Canada candidate, Keith Martin, and the
Conservative Party of Canada candidate, Troy DeSouza, was 68 votes in
favour of Keith Martin.
The following are the results for all candidates in the riding of
Esquimalt-Juan de Fuca:

The returning officer for Esquimalt-Juan de Fuca, Kerry Fedosenko,
will complete the writ of election and forward it to the Chief Electoral
Officer, who will sign the writ and publish the name of the elected
candidate in the Canada Gazette.
