Hitachi Comments on the Articles of LCD Panel Business

TOKYO--(Business Wire)--Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE:HIT) (TSE:6501) today commented on articles
that reported Hitachi, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.
(TSE:6752), and Canon Inc. (TSE:7751), are in stages to form a
comprehensive tie-up in LCD Panel Business.

However, no decision as reported has been made.
