Honeywell Signs Exclusive Licensing Agreement With Mercury Computer Systems
for VistaNav(R) 3D Synthetic Vision Technologies
Builds Avionics Capabilities with New Cockpit Solutions for General Aviation

PHOENIX, April 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Honeywell (NYSE: HON)
announced today that it has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with
Mercury Computer Systems for Mercury's VistaNav(R) 3D Synthetic Vision
Intellectual Property (IP).
"With this new avionics solution, Honeywell expands our technology toolkit
and allows us to offer more functionality for today's cockpits and those of
the future," said TK Kallenbach, Honeywell Vice President, Marketing & Product
Management. "This IP agreement aligns with the Honeywell Aerospace strategy
to offer leading-edge flight technologies."
Under the terms of the agreement, Honeywell will assume sales and support
of the VistaNav Cockpit Information System (CIS) situational awareness
products.
VistaNav(R) Synthetic Vision is a portable 3D synthetic vision navigation
system and a key element in the VistaNav electronic flight bag solutions
designed to increase pilot situational awareness and improve flight safety.
During flight, VistaNav generates and displays dynamic, realistic,
synthetic 3D imagery, showing a clear daytime like view, regardless of
external conditions.
In ground mode, the mobile computer can be used as a Tablet PC, running
Windows(R)-based aviation software.
Aircraft operators can use it to plan flight routes, download weather
forecasts and save flight plans. Primarily deployed in the general aviation
market, VistaNav offers applications for airliners and helicopters.
Transition of the licensed VistaNav product line will begin immediately.
