XFL (TSE: 9399) Completes Sales of Mergent and Kinetic

SHANGHAI, China, July 17 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Xinhua Finance
Limited ("XFL") (TSE Mothers: 9399) (OTC ADRs: XHFNY), China's premier
financial information and media service provider, today announced that it has
completed the sales of a 100% interest in Mergent, Inc., a leading US-based
financial data company, and Kinetic Information System Services Limited, a UK-
based index calculation company. The Company previously announced on June 25,
2008 that it had signed an agreement to sell the assets to a private equity
fund Carousel Capital Partners III, L.P. As previously disclosed, XFL will
make an offer to repurchase approximately $50 million of its outstanding
US$100,000,000 10% Senior Guaranteed Notes due 2011 within 45 days of
