Higher Costs and Crushing Taxes Nail Nation's Job Creators

WASHINGTON, Nov. 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In response to U.S. House
passage of the health care bill (H.R. 3962), Small Business & Entrepreneurship
Council (SBE Council) president & CEO Karen Kerrigan issued the following
statement:

"Make no mistake, those voting for H.R. 3962 voted to burden our nation's job
creators with higher costs and crushing taxes and penalties. Even in the best
of economic times passage of this bill would be an inane move. The costs
associated with H.R. 3962 are oppressive, and as a result jobs will be cut and
small business growth will be stunted.

"The U.S. House had an opportunity to offer a lifeline to small businesses in
the form of reasonable reform efforts that would help them keep or provide
health insurance for themselves and their workforce. Small businesses spoke
out on this issue, but the Democrat leadership and those voting for H.R. 3962
chose to ignore their concerns. The claim that H.R. 3962 will help small
business is blatantly false."
