ImageStream Partners with PowerCode to Manage P2P Traffic

CHICAGO--(Business Wire)--
At ISPCON today, ImageStream(R) announced it will partner with
PowerCode(TM) to manage the "Per User Fair Queuing" (PUFQ) techniques
ImageStream has developed to control peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic
including encrypted Bit Torrents.

"Peer-to-peer traffic control has become a necessity for our
service provider customers who need to share bandwidth fairly among

packet inspection," Utter said, "which is still used to prioritize

it's more difficult to classify. When the peer-to-peer software
changes, new inspection methods must be developed, much like a virus
definition file. This approach requires ongoing engineering and
software updates that everyone would prefer to avoid."

ImageStream engineers have completed work on the queuing
disciplines required to ensure reliable delivery of tiered services
with fair sharing. The technique implements a "Per User Fair Queuing"
methodology that would be difficult to manage without software like
PowerCode.
