Worldwide Network Services LLC Awarded Over $15 Million
WASHINGTON--(Business Wire)--
Today an eight-person jury in the Eastern District of Virginia
found unanimously in favor of Worldwide Network Services, LLC (WWNS),
and against DynCorp International, LLC (NYSE - DCP) on a number of
counts, including racial discrimination and breach of contract. The
decision came as a result of a civil dispute brought by WWNS, a
Washington D.C.-based minority-owned telecommunications service
provider.

The jury awarded WWNS over $5 million plus interest in
compensatory damages, as well as $10 million in punitive damages.

WWNS worked as a subcontractor to Dyncorp in Iraq and Afghanistan
under the multibillion dollar State Department International Civilian
Police training program (CIVPOL), installing telecommunications
equipment and network services. WWNS brought the dispute against
Dyncorp in October 2006 accusing the large defense contractor of
actions designed to force WWNS out of the Iraq and Afghanistan
projects.
