Achievement for Station Excellence
CN8 Attains Highest Overall Number of Nominations for any Cable Network with
Recognition for its Live Sports and Issues-Oriented Programming
PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- CN8, The Comcast Network was
recognized with 35 Emmy Award nominations from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the
National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, attaining the highest
overall for any cable network. Comcast's preeminent regional cable network was
also honored with a nomination in the coveted Station Excellence category for
distinction in station operations.

subscribers with exclusive programming that is meaningful and relevant," said

CN8 individuals recognized at the Mid-Atlantic Emmy nominations event on
Wednesday, August 6 include: on-air hosts/anchors Gregg Murphy and Lynn Doyle
earning nominations for Outstanding Program Host/Moderator; Greg Coy and Jeff
Rickard receiving nominations for Outstanding Anchor in News and Sports,
respectively; Justin Lock with a nomination for Anchor - Weather; and John
Carchedi with a nomination for Reporter - Sports.
In other categories, "Out of Bounds," CN8's fast-paced weeknight sports
program, was recognized in Sports - One-Time Special and Sports Regularly
Scheduled Daily or Weekly Program; and CN8 Sports received nominations for
Sporting Game - Live/Unedited Program or Special and Sporting Game -
Live/Unedited Series. CN8's hallmark issues-oriented programs, "It's Your Call
with Lynn Doyle" and "Larry Kane: Voice of Reason" were recognized for
excellence in the Interview/Discussion - Series category.
