First-Ever Hard Copy Version of the 'Australian Players Directory' Now
Available to Tap Talent Down Under

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. casting directors no longer need
to go on a "walkabout" in search of Australia's best talent, with the launch
of the first-ever hard copy of the Australian Players Directory.
Produced in conjunction with the Players Directory -- L.A.'s most revered
talent source for casting directors -- the Australian Players Directory,
provides a huge amount of exposure for Australian actors, both in the United
States and in the land "down under."
The Directory will enable casting directors in the U.S. looking for the
next Cate Blanchett, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe or Nicole Kidman to quickly
locate talent from over 4,000 of the best actors currently working in
Australia.
"With the popularity of Australian actors in Hollywood, there is no doubt
that this directory will be well received, and allow those who want to be
found, to be seen by the right people, wherever they are," said Keith
Gonzales, editor of the Players Directory.
In Australia, the Players Directory will list both Australian Film
Institute and Independent Film awards winners and nominees, guaranteeing that
the book has the stamp of quality. In Los Angeles, the directory will help
cement Australia's reputation as the training ground for a host of talented
actors, many of whom are famous the world over.
"Although I regularly use online databases to search for actors, a hard
copy book will always be an invaluable tool", said Christine King, casting
director for movies including Star Wars, Superman and The Matrix. "It's great
to see so many of our talented Australian actors succeeding in Hollywood and
here in Australia."
Not just a resource for casting directors, the Australian Players
Directory is also an invaluable tool for directors and producers alike.
    History of the Players Directory
First printed in January 1937, the Academy Players Directory is the
industry's oldest and best-known casting directory. The first issue was a
248-page publication listing 1,257 players, including names like Mae West,
James Stewart, Gene Autry, Bette Davis, Mary Astor and Gary Cooper.
