FALLS CHURCH, Va.--(Business Wire)--
HandySoft, the leading global provider of dynamic Business Process
Management (BPM) solutions, today announced that its customer the
Korean Ministry of Labor won the Korean Presidential Award in the
"Excellent Government Knowledge Agencies Evaluation" for its
implementation of BizFlow(R) as the foundation to its "Process-based
Knowledge Management System (PKMS)." The Ministry recognized HandySoft
with the Minister Award for its excellent support in the project.
The Ministry's PKMS project also received finalist recognition in
the 2007 Global Excellence Awards by WARIA and the WfMC for innovation
and excellence in BPM & Workflow for the Pacific Rim. The PKMS project
has been submitted on the behalf of Republic of Korea to the United
Nations for the UN Public Service recognition.
This is the sixth consecutive year that HandySoft's customers have
received awards for their use of BizFlow for workflow and process
automation.
PKMS is used by the Ministry of Labor to improve knowledge
utilization through greater knowledge sharing within all
workflow-related activities.
With the PKMS, the Ministry defined 34 different business
processes in the fields of industrial safety and health as well as
labor supervision standards. It also registered and enabled the use of
12,000 pieces of job knowledge, including job-related application
cases, learning materials, and work manuals.
By using BizFlow, the Ministry:
-- Cuts personnel costs annually $6.75 million in safety, health
and labor supervision
-- Reduced annual operational costs of $3.7 million.
-- Reduced management oversight of safety, health, and labor
cases by 30% from 30 days to 21 days
-- Decreased the time required for educating new/transferred
employees from one year to six months.
Says Bruce McLeod, President and CEO at HandySoft Global, "We're
excited to see customers such as the Korean Ministry of Labor save
millions in operational costs and improved collaboration. BizFlow
proves over and over that BPM is the right approach to tackling
workflow and knowledge management initiatives around the world."
The Global Excellence Awards are used to recognize organizations
that have demonstrably excelled in implementing innovative solutions
to meet strategic business objectives. Sponsored by The Workflow
Management Coalition (WfMC) and the Workflow and Reengineering
International Association (WARIA), the Global Excellence Awards are
now in their 18th year.
