DUBLIN--(Business Wire)--
Research and Markets
(http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/d0fa94/global_mpls_over_w) has
announced the addition of the "Global MPLS over WiMAX - Fixed and Mobile:
Opportunities for Global Telecom Markets" report to their offering.

This is a report on the opportunities of deployment of MPLS technology on WiMAX
such that fixed & mobile subscribers of SMEs and Corporations having national
and multi-national spread of businesses can build their own virtual private
networks for mission critical applications. Such networking framework shall
ensure secured and reliable multi-location connectivity among SMEs & corporate
users irrespective of whether they are static and mobile. The existing MPLS
service providers can offer such services by either deploying their own WiMAX
networks or else by merging their network backbone with the existing WiMAX
service providers. This report presents multiple scenarios of the service
offerings and revenue projections. The researchers have carried out interviews
with 155 IT Strategists, IT Consultants, IT Implementation Managers working with
reputed Global Systems Integrators and IT Remote Infrastructure Management
specialists and established that in the world of growing globalization of
existing as well as new businesses, markets and customers, the corporations are
changing their IT strategies from on-site hosting to cloud computing hosting on
virtualized infrastructures. Key solutions like Google Apps and IBM LotusLive
are actively promoting such solutions to the SMEs and Corporations. The key to
success of the new Cloud Hosting strategies is high speed secured network
infrastructure especially for the mobile workforce. MPLS is the de facto choice
for secured network connectivity from end users to hosting service providers and
the best wireless medium for MPLS connectivity of fixed as well as mobile
workforce is WiMAX.

In this context, following are the key findings of the report:

* In the current era of economic distress, a large number of SMEs and
Corporations across the world are in the process of reducing their
infrastructure costs by shifting to virtual enterprise concept.
* Cloud computing is the definite answer to implementation of virtual enterprise
that can increase employee mobility & productivity, improve corporate
efficiency, improve team collaborations, ensure better access to information,
and reduce costs.
* Solutions like Google Apps, IBM LotusLive, SalesForce.com and Amazon Elastic
Compute can ensure virtualization of SMEs and large enterprises at high pace in
reliable fashion that can ensure significant cost cutting of the enterprises.
* Secured networking will be the biggest roadblock for transition of SMEs and
large enterprises to private cloud platforms and MPLS is the best possible
solution to this challenge.
* The increased mobility of employees due to virtual enterprise transformations
will need MPLS to be transitioned to the user laptops with wireless
connectivity. In this context, WiMAX will serve as the most viable solution.
* MPLS over WiMAX solutions will boost the markets of cloud computing, WiMAX as
well as MPLS. The researchers estimated a market potential of $1 Billion for one
time WiMAX services and $13 Billion annual recurring for WiMAX services in the
knowledge based sectors of UK and all countries of European Union put together.
In addition, the researchers estimated a market potential of $4 Billion annual
recurring for MPLS over WiMAX services in the knowledge based sectors of UK and
all countries of European Union put together.

Executive Summary:

The transition towards cloud computing has already started given that SMEs and
large enterprises are slowly realizing the enormous benefits of on demand hosted
infrastructure with fixed service levels but variable charges. The world has
already witnessed the largest ever transition to cloud computing when Valeo
decided to transition their enterprise IT enabled business applications to
Google Apps Suite for their 30000 employees working in 193 entities in 27
countries. The global IT strategists may either be supporting or opposing this
move but this report proves that this was an excellent move looking into the
globalization of Valeo's markets & customers and the changing economic
landscapes. The liberty of maintaining luxury infrastructures will soon go away
from the hands of SMEs and large enterprises amidst growing competition and
reduction of costs demanded by the customers. Hence, virtual enterprise is the
answer to this challenge that shall lead to increased mobility of employees,
improved employee satisfaction (as they will be allowed to work from the place
of their choice), lower running cost of business, enhanced employee
productivity, enhanced team collaboration, and above all, better IT management
and governance. The biggest challenge, however, shall be secured networking from
client laptops to the enterprise cloud resources given that security issues in
Internet Broadband doesn't make it a valid choice for client connectivity. In
this context, the researchers have found that Global MPLS over WiMAX is the best
possible solution for client connectivity because it not only ensures secured
connections to the cloud but also high performance wireless connectivity for the
client computers for IP Multimedia applications (Data, Voice and Video). This
report presents an entire new market segment of mobile MPLS connectivity that
shall enhance the markets of MPLS, WiMAX and Cloud service providers
considerably.
