HONG KONG, July 14 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- In cooperation with the

Global Sources Chairman and CEO, Merle A. Hinrichs, said: "We are honored
that the Qingdao government selected us to help organize this event. As
emerging markets become increasingly important, we aim to help China suppliers
gain a foothold in these markets and position themselves for strong growth
ahead.
"We are taking a leadership role to ensure China's export miracle
continues as markets like Brazil, Russia and India offer the next big
opportunities in global trade."
Head of Foreign Trade Planning Office, Bureau of Foreign Trade & Economic
Cooperation, Qingdao Municipal People's Government, Xu Zhenghua, said: "I
would like to thank Global Sources for the one-to-one meetings arranged for
Qingdao suppliers. These meetings brought Qingdao suppliers new clients and
new orders, which helps a lot in developing presence in emerging markets.
These types of events are invaluable as local suppliers strive to develop a
presence in emerging markets and reduce the impact brought about by global
recession." Eight of Russia's top buyers participated in the event,
including:

    * M.Video -- Russia's second-largest consumer electronics and home
      appliances retail chain
    * Rolsen -- One of Russia's largest electronics distributors
    * BTK -- One of the largest distributors of consumer and computer
electronics, and professional audio-video equipment in Russia and
      Ukraine
    * Auto Audio Center -- One of Russia's largest distributors of audio
      electronics

Buyers met with many of Qingdao's largest suppliers, including some of
China's famous brands -- Haier, HiSense and Aucma.
One buyer, OEM Manager of M.Video, Anna Bondarenko, said: "I would like to
extend our gratitude to the Chinese government and to Global Sources for
organizing this event. We found many potential Chinese partners and hope that
these meetings will lead to long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation."
Another buyer, Business Development Manager of Rolsen, Kirill Korshunov,
said: "Because meetings take place in a private conference room, we were able
to include more of our key people, which significantly increased the
effectiveness of talks with suppliers. It was easier to gain an understanding
of suppliers' capabilities and their strategies for the Russian market. These
kinds of one-to-one meetings can bring deeper cooperation and lead to long-
term partnerships."
One supplier, Russia Market Manager of Qingdao Haier Group, Sun Zhenhua,
said: "We see Russia as a key market for the future and expect to continue to
grow sales by partnering with quality buyers. This event was highly productive
and gave us the opportunity to meet many key Russian buyers in a single day."
Another supplier, CIS Market Manager for HiSense, Zhang Shuai, said: "We
see the Russian market as a huge opportunity to build our own brand. To do
this, we need strong partners in the region.
"Buyers we met are some of Russia's top retailers and distributors.
They're exactly the kind of companies who can help us achieve our goals. This
was a highly productive event for us."
