Citi`s Contribution to Support the Arts and Help Revitalize Downtown Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS--(Business Wire)--
Citi (NYSE:C) and The Smith Center for the Performing Arts announce that Citi is
contributing $100,000 to The Smith Center in support of arts education and
redevelopment of downtown Las Vegas. The special donation directly supports the
Southern Nevada Wolf Trap Early Learning Through the Arts program. Vikram
Pandit, Citi Chief Executive Officer, will be in Las Vegas to announce the
contribution and reinforce Citi`s ongoing commitment to Nevada and support for
The Smith Center.

The internationally respected Wolf Trap program brings innovative arts-based
teaching strategies and services to local early childhood educators, parents and
children up to five years old through the disciplines of drama, music and
movement. Slated to open in 2012, The Smith Center for the Performing Arts is a
public/private partnership that will become the centerpiece of cultural life in
Las Vegas offering a blend of performances by resident companies as well as
first-run touring attractions.

Citi Nevada Site President Steve Garofalo said, "The Smith Center has provided
important arts-based education to the local community since its inception, and,
following the opening of a physical site, will be the cornerstone to
revitalizing downtown Las Vegas. We are honored to be part of making this vision
a reality for Las Vegas."

Donald Snyder, Chairman of The Smith Center, said, "We are encouraged by Citi`s
commitment to supporting arts education and our mission to revitalize downtown
Las Vegas. The partnership with Citi and its generous contribution will enable
us to establish The Smith Center as the preeminent arts education center of Las
Vegas. This contribution and guidance demonstrates Citi`s commitment to arts
education and community building."

In September, The Smith Center established classroom Wolf Trap programs in ten
local preschools and has plans to expand the work to a total of 20 classrooms.
The residencies span seven consecutive weeks, pairing five local teaching
artists with early childhood educators. Together they will develop, refine and
evaluate new performing arts teaching strategies.

Citi has been a member of the Nevada community for nearly a quarter century. It
employs approximately 2,000 employees in the state and operates more than 16
branches and/or offices through its Citibank, CitiMortgage, CitiFinancial and
Citi Cards businesses. In 2008, Citi and the Citi Foundation contributed
approximately $1 million to eligible nonprofit organizations in Nevada and Citi
employees volunteered more than 3,000 hours in the state.
