Acquisition Consolidates Top Digital Forensics Skills in One Global Firm
NEW YORK & LONDON--(Business Wire)--
Stroz Friedberg, the leading technical consulting and services firm specializing
in digital forensics, electronic discovery, data breach and online fraud
incident response, and commercial investigations, has acquired Data Genetics
International, Ltd. (DGI), the U.K.'s largest independent digital forensics
technology company. DGI brings special expertise in mobile phone forensics to
Stroz Friedberg's technical skill set and service offerings. The new U.K.
division, with offices in London and Leeds, will be known as Stroz Friedberg,
Ltd.

This acquisition establishes a global office presence for the privately-held
Stroz Friedberg, which has eight offices in major U.S. cities. With the
integration of services, staff, and client bases, the company will reinforce its
position as an international leader in providing objective, accurate, and
creative solutions to time-sensitive complex matters, including electronic
discovery projects, data breach incidents, internal investigations, and response
to online fraud and abuse. "We have partnered with DGI on domestic and
international projects before, so this is a natural extension of our business
relationship," said Eric Friedberg, co-president of Stroz Friedberg. "Our
clients will benefit from a strategic advantage most firms cannot offer:
immediate, highly capable, and cost-effective response to urgent data breaches
and eDiscovery matters anywhere in the U.S., the E.U., and, for that matter, the
world."

Stroz Friedberg's acquisition of DGI will deliver specific benefits to the
combined firms' clients, focusing on the most pressing digital risk management
needs of international business today. Improved cost efficiencies and
responsiveness will bring immediate benefits to clients in the U.S. and abroad
in matters of electronic discovery and disclosure, data breach, cell phone and
mobile device forensics, online fraud, and intellectual property theft
(including disgruntled former employees or "bad leavers"). Moreover, Stroz
Friedberg's unique multidisciplinary approach, combining legal and regulatory
experience, superior technical skills, and proven investigative techniques, is
now enhanced with DGI's distinct skill sets and knowledge base.

A major advantage, for example, lies in Stroz Friedberg's proprietary eDiscovery
Mobile Processing Unit which allows the firm's powerful eDiscovery platform to
be deployed in-country and in compliance with country-specific privacy and data
protection regulations, and guaranteeing clients that their data will be housed
in the country of origin.

"Stroz Friedberg has an impressive reputation as a leader in digital forensics
investigations and eDiscovery," stated Julian Parker, co-founder and CEO of DGI,
who becomes a managing director of Stroz Friedberg and CEO of Stroz Friedberg,
Ltd. "DGI will add our leadership in cell phone and mobile device forensics as
well as our experience and knowledge of U.K. and E.U. business issues to extend
the firm's reach and to quickly assess and remediate our clients' litigation
concerns that hinge on electronically stored information," he added.

Recent financial scandals in the securities, real estate, and subprime sectors
have underscored the value of digital data, as much of the litigation resulting
from these scandals will require costly legal review of massive amounts of
electronic documents, including emails, spreadsheets, transaction and audit
records, and even transcribed telephone conversations. Stroz Friedberg is a
trusted leader in providing in-house and outside counsel with effective methods
and innovative technology to quickly turn large unstructured document
repositories into a single searchable database that can be used to craft a
winning litigation strategy. "The ability of digital forensics and eDiscovery
firms to respond quickly and comprehensively to client needs is critical when
dealing with electronically stored information," noted Ed Stroz, founder and
co-president of Stroz Friedberg. "Any delay in the forensic preservation of
targeted data can incur the risk of overwritten or corrupted information,
raising the specter of fines, sanctions, or lost litigation." More information
