LynuxWorks to Participate in Object Management Group (OMG) High Assurance Security Solutions Workshop
ARLINGTON, VA, Jul 13 (MARKET WIRE) --
LynuxWorks, Inc., a world leader in embedded software, today announced
their participation and collaboration in the High Assurance Security
Solutions Workshop and Multiple Independent Levels of Security (MILS)
demonstration with four of the top commercial aerospace and defense
suppliers at the Object Management Group (OMG) Security Solutions
Workshop.
A simulated combat search and rescue demonstration will show enemy jet
fighter aircraft and missiles being identified and destroyed by systems
from Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and Rockwell Collins. The event
will show successful target execution and the safe recovery of downed
pilots. The demonstration features the MILS architecture approach to
information assurance which can use COTS products that are evaluated per
the Common Criteria to achieve secure information sharing in a
battlespace.
When: Tuesday, July 14, 2009
9:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Where: The Westin Arlington Gateway
801 North Glebe Road
Arlington, VA 22203
During the workshop, LynuxWorks will also demonstrate LynxSecure 3.0,
a next-generation separation kernel and embedded hypervisor designed to
support MILS architecture for high-assurance systems. LynxSecure enables
development of multi-level secure systems that process classified data at
all levels simultaneously, including MLS displays, downgraders and guards,
cross domain systems, secure access for communities of interest, safe
browsing, and secure office products. LynxSecure offers the unique ability
to run fully virtualized guest operating systems, such as Windows(R),
simultaneously on the same hardware as para-virtualized operating systems
such as Linux(R) or the LynxOS RTOS(R) family, with each operating system
in its own secure partition.
"As the only secure hypervisor utilizing virtual technology and supporting
multiple cores, LynxSecure is the undisputed performance leader in secure
solutions for embedded and desktops systems," said Steve Blackman,
LynuxWorks Director of Business Development. "It provides a foundation to
add security to legacy systems and reuse legacy Windows/Linux applications
alongside real time systems in a secure, multi-core environment. Our
automated correct by construction formal methods process reduces the time,
risk and cost of high assurance which, along with our leading technology,
is why it is being used by the Navy for its multi-level (EAL7) secure
workstation on the CDS program."
