Free Certification Program Offered to Help Develop Management and Leadership
Skills for Those in Need of Returning to the Workplace
HARRISONBURG, Va.--(Business Wire)--
The Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM), a leading management
development and leadership educator, announced today its partnership with Ivy
Tech Community College (ITCC) to offer the Certified Manager (CMâ„¢) program
through the use of State economic stimulus funds. In an effort to assist and
prepare displaced workers to return to the workplace, ITCC, Indiana`s largest
public post-secondary institution, will offer the ICPM CM certification program
enabling participants to gain a competitive edge in the areas of leadership and
management.

"With our commitment to providing workforce education and economic development
for Indiana`s communities and by utilizing the State-approved economic stimulus
funds, ITCC will be able to deliver the CM certification prep program to
displaced workers tuition free," said Mark Brandyberry, CM, ITCC`s Training and
Development Coordinator.

"The partnership between ITCC and ICPM is an excellent example of the synergy
that can be created by two educational institutes that share a common goal,"
said Lynn Powell, CM, Director of ICPM. "As educators, we have a responsibility
to be responsive to the needs of the workforce - in good or bad economic times.
With the CM credential program, we foresee that doors for re-employment will
open, in addition to receiving the management and leadership skills that will
enhance professional development."

Participants that successfully complete the CM program requirements will earn
the CM professional credential. The CM certification validates essential skills
needed to lead and manage effectively in today`s workplace and supports career
placement and advancement. Over 10,000 professionals hold the CM certification,
which is recognized internationally.
