Marriott Announces Plan to Address Global Climate Change - Signs Major
Agreement With the State of Amazonas to Protect 1.4 Million Acres of Brazilian
Rainforest
Official Signing - Monday, April 7 - 9:30 a.m. - National Zoo Amazonia Exhibit
WHAT: Marriott International and the State of Amazonas, sign landmark
agreement to protect endangered rainforest in Brazil's Juma
Sustainable Development Reserve. This multi-million dollar
project will safeguard the forest and its bio-diversity which is
critical to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

forests - more than from all of the world's cars, trucks, SUVs,
            and trains combined.

Working with Conservation International, the company is also
taking major steps to reduce energy and water consumption, green
its $10 billion supply chain, build green hotels and engage
