ViewSonic Delivers Affordable True 1080p Performance
Display Leader's 47- and 42-inch Full HD LCD TVs Offer High-End Features at a
Great Price
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The Consumer Electronic Association
(CEA) estimates that consumers will buy 70 million new digital televisions
(DTVs) over the next two years as the nation transitions from analog(1) to
digital high-definition television (HDTV). ViewSonic(R) Corp. is delivering
premium HDTV entertainment at more affordable prices with the big screen
47-inch N4785p and 42-inch N4285p LCD HDTVs to meet this growing demand.
ViewSonic's N4785p is priced below $1,600, delivering brilliant images with
1920X1080p resolution for true 1080p capability and boasts a 6.5 millisecond
response time for extreme clarity in fast action movies and sporting events.
"These two new additions to our NextVision(R) LCD TV lineup are a top
choice for consumers looking for large-screen, low-cost HDTVs without
compromising high-end luxury features and design," said Steve Woo, vice
president and general manager of VTV Business Division, ViewSonic Americas.
"The large-screen LCD TVs not only combine ViewSonic's 20 years of display
expertise with superior HDTV performance, but also deliver an outstanding
value."
With a glossy piano black finish, the stylish TVs leverage ViewSonic's
Advanced ClearPicture(TM) electronics that feature precision video processing
and digital noise reduction to deliver a smoother and sharper high definition
viewing experience. The N4785p and N4285p also respectively feature high
contrast ratios of 1500:1 (typ) and 2000:1 (typ) for rich colors and vivid
graphics.
The LCD TVs offer an integrated ATSC/NTSC/QAM TV tuner and comprehensive
inputs including component video "S" and composite video to be compatible with
existing DVD players and video set-top boxes. To support high-definition
peripherals, such as video game consoles and Blu-Ray(TM) discs, the N4785p
provides three HDMI connections with HDCP compatibility, while the N4285p
provides two HDMI connections. For custom home automation integrators, the
N4785p also includes a RS232 control input port.
Both TVs are compatible with PCs up to 1680x1050 resolution, allowing
users to watch downloaded multimedia such as episodes of "The Office" or
YouTube video favorites on the big screen. The N4785p and N4285p are also
equipped with Dolby(R) Digital stereo sound for high-fidelity audio that
optimizes the entertainment experience.
Available immediately, the N4785p and N4285p will have estimated street
prices of $1,599 and $1,399 respectively. The LCD TVs will be sold through
authorized ViewSonic retailers, resellers, distributors and mail order
