DUBLIN, Ireland--(Business Wire)--
Research and Markets
(http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/949c2b/morocco_converge) has
announced the addition of the "Morocco - Convergence Broadband & Internet
Markets" report to their offering.

Morocco's Internet market is dominated by Maroc Telecom (MT)'s ADSL broadband
service which held over 90% of the market until recently. Despite this de-facto
monopoly position, the country has some of the lowest broadband prices and
highest penetration rates in Africa and has seen the introduction of innovative
new services such as the first commercial IPTV service on the continent. 2007
saw the introduction of third-generation mobile broadband services, and within
18 months this sub-sector had taken almost a quarter of the broadband market.
This development is expected to continue, since the mobile networks reach a far
greater percentage of the population than MT's copper fixed-line network. To
accommodate the increasing amount of Internet traffic, international
connectivity and fibre optic national backbone networks are being expanded, and
WiMAX is being rolled as the next-generation access technology.
