2009 Taiwan Trade Mission to Iran, Kuwait and Yemen
TAIPEI, Taiwan--(Business Wire)-- The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) will organize a trade mission comprising of 30 well-established Taiwanese businesses to visit Iran, Kuwait and Yemen from Nov. 6 to 17. The purpose of this visit is to explore the market opportunities in the Middle East region and to strengthen trade relationships between Taiwan and these three countries. Enjoying stable growth in the past several years, a number of countries in the Middle East have become prime markets for Taiwan`s trade and exports. In 2008, Taiwan shipped USD 4.4 billion worth of goods to the region, which included cars, steel materials, machinery and equipment, chemicals, and ICT products among others. Meanwhile, the island imported sizable amounts of oil, mineral and chemical products from the region in the same year Since the delegates joining this mission come from a variety of industries, local buyers will have opportunities to select from a wide range of products.
