WASHINGTON, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Democratic National
Committee Communications Director Karen Finney issued the following statement
in response to John McCain's decision to challenge the patriotism of Senate
Majority Leader Harry Reid and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi in an
interview with the Wall Street Journal editorial board published today:
"The decision of John McCain, a flailing presidential candidate, to attack
the patriotism of people who disagree with President Bush's failed strategy in
Iraq reeks of the same brand of Karl Rove-Dick Cheney attack politics the
American people have already rejected. Unless he thinks the vast majority of
the American people who oppose the President's mishandling of the war are
unpatriotic, John McCain should apologize for using the sort of divisive
rhetoric that does nothing to help us move forward as a country or find an end
to the war in Iraq."
