Anglo's Mantoverde mine unharmed by Chile quake

SANTIAGO, March 26 (Reuters) - Global miner Anglo American (AAL.L) said operations at its Monteverde copper mine in Chile were unaffected by a new quake on Friday.

The 61,000 tonne-per-year mine is the closest Anglo American mine to the epicenter of the quake that hit Chile’s northern region.

The 6.2-magnitude quake was centered about 49 miles (79 km) south of the city of Copiapo, which is located south of most of the country’s key mining copper operations. (Reporting by Alonso Soto; Editing by John Picinich)
