(Adds details)
LONDON, Nov 4 (Reuters) - British aerospace and defence electronics group Cobham (COB.L) said revenues had grown strongly in the third quarter, driven by robust military and government markets, and that the outlook was healthy.
Cohham, whose equipment helps military vehicles such as the F-35 fighter plane communicate with one another, said its sales growth had also been boosted by previous acquisitions and favourable currency translation.
The company, which in its infancy pioneered in-flight aircraft refuelling, said military and government market conditions were healthy and that revenues at its defence systems unit was beginning to benefit from the recent order intake for vehicle intercom systems.
It said its commercial businesses had declined in generally unfavourable market conditions, however.
Chief Executive Allan Cook, who will be replaced by Chief Operating Officer Andy Stevens when he retires at the end of the year, said the order book stood at 2.5 billion pounds ($4.12 billion) and that he expects Cobham to deliver further progress in the fourth quarter.
Shares in Cobham, which have risen by a quarter in the last three months, closed at 222.40 pence on Tuesday, valuing the group at around 2.5 billion pounds.
