AUA Chairman pins hopes on Lufthansa board meeting

VIENNA, July 14 (Reuters) - A board meeting on Tuesday at Lufthansa (LHAG.DE) could bring progress in stalled talks with European antitrust watchdogs about Lufthansa's planned purchase of Austrian Airlines (AUAV.VI), AUA's Chairman said.

AUA Chairman Peter Michaelis told journalists on the fringes of an AUA shareholder meeting that he hoped the meeting, which started earlier Tuesday afternoon, would bring progress. (Reporting by Alexandra Schwarz, Writing by Boris Groendahl)
