ICBC to be cautious in seeking U.S. acquisitions
TIANJIN, China, Sept 26 (Reuters) - Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (601398.SS)(1398.HK), the country's largest lender, must be cautious in exploring U.S. acquisitions during the current financial turmoil, Chairman Jiang Jianqing said on Friday.
Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting of the World Economic Forum in this northern port city, Jiang said China's economy would be affected by the turbulence sweeping Wall Street.
He said ICBC would be selective in its U.S. investments but would continue to hold U.S. government bonds. (Reporting by Langi Chiang; Editing by Ken Wills)
