TOKYO, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Shares of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (8306.T) fell 4.7 percent at the start of trade on Monday, after sources said Japan's largest bank will issue up to 1 trillion yen in new shares by the end of this year. [ID:nT142551]

The common share issue would be a record for a Japanese financial firm, according to Thomson Reuters data.

An initial report of the issue by the Nikkei newspaper sent the bank's U.S.-traded shares (MTU.N) down nearly 8 percent.

Shares were down 5.3 percent at 482 yen as of 0016 GMT. (Reporting by David Dolan)
