China's Shenhua raises power tariff by 4.5 pct
HONG KONG, July 10 (Reuters) - China's Shenhua Energy Co Ltd (1088.HK) (601088.SS), the world's most valuable coal producer, raised tariffs charged at its coal-fired power plants by an average 4.5 percent from July 1.
The adjustment was made after China's decision to adjust on-grid tariffs for power plants, to ease the pain of rising coal prices on generators and ensure electricity supply.
Shenhua said in a statement late on Wednesday it had a total of 17,591 megawatts of installed power capacity at the end of June.
Shenhua's Hong Kong-listed shares fell 1.8 percent on Thursday, versus a 1.1 percent drop on the benchmark Hang Seng Index's .HSI.
