SEOUL, June 23 (Reuters) - The following is a summary of major South Korean newspapers on Monday, prepared by Reuters in Seoul. Reuters has not checked the stories and does not guarantee their accuracy.

DONG-A ILBO

Following additional negotiations with the United States, South Korea has decided not to import beef from cattle older than 30 months and has barred risky cattle parts such as eyes, brains, and spinal cords, the government said.

North Korea has invited five media groups to cover the destruction of its cooling tower at Yongbyon, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said, including U.S. news channel CNN and South Korean broadcaster MBC.

MAEIL BUSINESS NEWSPAPER

Top South Korean sweets maker Lotte Confectionery (004990.KS) has acquired Belgium-based chocolatier Guylian, the company said.

STX Group (067250.KS) will raise its sales target to 50 trillion won ($48.52 billion) by 2012, the company said.

KOREAN ECONOMIC DAILY

30 domestic companies including SK Group have proposed to POSCO that they participate in its bid to purchase Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co (042660.KS), the companies said.
