TOKYO, June 24 (Reuters) - A panel of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said on Tuesday that Japan should halve solar panel prices for households within 3 to 5 years.

Japan has watched domestic solar power demand dry up after it pulled the plug on subsidies, hurting solar equipment firms' ability to invest in research and expansion abroad. (Reporting by Mayumi Negishi)
