India's January passenger car sales up 9 pct yr/yr
NEW DELHI, Feb 8 (Reuters) - India's domestic sales of passenger cars rose 9 percent in January to 113,899 units from 104,501 units in the same month a year earlier, an industry body said on Friday.
Sales of commercial vehicles -- trucks and buses -- stood at 46,788 units in January, down 1 percent from 47,251 units, while sales of motorcycles fell 14 percent to 481,267 from 560,056 units, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers said. (Reporting by Rakesh Sharma)
