-- Samsung is set to build its first mobile phone plant in Vietnam with an estimated investment of $670 million, said Nguyen Van Dao, deputy general director of Samsung Vina.

-- Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company VNM.HM announced its revenues in the first quarter this year reached 1.8 trillion dong ($113 million), up 30.65 percent from a year earlier and net profit fell 3 percent to 309.2 billion dong ($19.3 million).

-- Standard Chartered has raised its share ownership at Asia Commercial Bank ACB.HN to 15 percent and also acquired a total of 15.86 percent of the bank's convertible bonds.

-- Dai Nam Securities Company, owning 38 billion dong ($2.4 million) in the registered capital, has become an official member of the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange .VNI.
