Renault agrees electric car venture with EDF

PARIS, Oct 9 (Reuters) - French carmaker Renault (RENA.PA) and power group EDF (EDF.PA) have signed an agreement to develop a large scale electric car project, starting in France.

"The objective is to establish electric cars as a viable and attractive transport solution for consumers," the groups said in a joint statement. (Reporting by Dominique Vidalon, editing by Will Waterman)
