French soccer club Lyon's profits slump

PARIS, Oct 27 (Reuters) - Leading French soccer club Olympique Lyon's (OLG.PA) holding company reported a slump in full-year profit on Tuesday.

Net profit for the 2008-2009 financial year fell 74 percent from the year before to 5.1 million euros ($7.6 million).

Lyon got a major boost in its bid to progress to the next stage of the lucrative European Champions League tournament this month with a victory over Liverpool, but then lost the next league match 4-1 at Nice. [ID:nLO263191].

Olympique Lyonnais shares closed down 1 percent at 9.60 euros on Tuesday, giving the company a market capitalisation of around 127 million euros.
