Manila's SM Investments 2007 net up 14 pct on yr

MANILA, March 10 (Reuters) - Philippine conglomerate SM Investments Corp (SM.PS: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Monday its 2007 net profit rose 14 percent, in line with its guidance, as an improving economy boosted its retail and real estate businesses.

SM Investments posted net income of 12 billion pesos ($292 million) last year against 10.6 billion pesos in 2006.
