SEOUL, July 10 (Reuters) - The following is a summary of major South Korean newspapers on Friday, prepared by Reuters in Seoul. Reuters has not checked the stories and does not guarantee their accuracy.

CHOSUN ILBO

The Ministry of Strategy and Finance said Thursday that it was looking into putting into action next year a plan for substitute holidays for observed holidays that fall on a Sunday.

A senior Grand National Party official said on Thursday that it was planning to push forward a cyber crisis control law that had been proposed last September.

DONGA ILBO

Hacking attacks on some South Korean and U.S. Web sites continued for a third day and according to intelligence sources, computers involved automatically format themselves to eliminate evidence.

During his stay in Italy for the G8 conference, President Lee Myung-bak visited Pope Benedict at the Vatican for a 30-minute talk in which the Pope expressed his hopes for Korean unification and the well-being of North Korean citizens.

KOREA ECONOMIC DAILY

Thailand is currently the leading holder of South Korean bonds with a total of 8.6 trillion won ($6.7 billion), the Financial Supervisory Service said on Thursday.

POSCO (005490.KS) has no intention of buying Daewoo Engineering (047040.KS) and will focus on foreign investment and mergers and acquisitions overseas, its chairman said Thursday.
