SEOUL, July 7 (Reuters) - The following is a summary of major South Korean newspapers on Tuesday, prepared by Reuters in Seoul. Reuters has not checked the stories and does not guarantee their accuracy.

CHOSUN ILBO

South Korean president Lee Myung-bak said Monday that he would donate his entire savings, estimated at 32 billion won ($25.24 million), to a charity foundation.

According to the South Korean government the $6.9 billion worth of humanitarian aid sent to North Korea from South Korea over the past 10 years is more than double the total cost of North Korea's missile development and launches and nuclear tests.

A South Korean military source said on Monday that a high ranking officer of the United States Forces Korea told aides of South Korea's national defence committee last week that discussion on the expansion of the permitted range of South Korean missiles would be possible through security and military consultative meetings.

The Financial Supervisory Service said on Monday that insurance companies had accumulated an estimated 427.8 billion won ($337.4 million) in dormant accounts as of March, a 47.7 billion won ($37.62 million) decrease from last year.

Major shipping firms have applied to sell their vessels to a shipbuilding sector fund set up by Korea Asset Management Corp (KAMCO), a state debt clearer, industry sources said.
