SHANGHAI, Dec 1 (Reuters) - Chinese television and mobile phone maker TCL Corp (000100.SZ: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Saturday it has agreed to sell control of its PC business in a deal worth 60 million yuan ($8.11 million).

The buyer, whose Chinese name translates phonetically as "Changda", has agreed to pay the equivalent of 40 million yuan in foreign currency, and inject 20 million yuan worth of capital into the PC unit, TCL said in a Chinese-language statement to the Shenzhen stock exchange.

TCL did not specify which foreign currency.

After the transaction, TCL will hold 18 percent of the PC unit, it said.

Shares in TCL, which have been suspended from trading since Wednesday, had more than doubled so far this year, compared to a 125 percent rise in the Shenzhen index in the same period. ($1=7.396 Yuan) (Reporting by Sophie Taylor; Editing by Tomasz Janowski)
