Just shares jump after Premier launches bid
SYDNEY, March 31 (Reuters) - Shares in fashion retailer Just Group Ltd (JST.AX: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) jumped over 12 percent on Monday after Premier Investments Ltd (PMV.AX: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), a company controlled by prominent Australian investor Solomon Lew, made a takeover offer worth up to A$898 million ($824 million).
Premier said it would offer A$2.20 in cash and 0.25 Premier Investments shares for each Just Group share. Just Group's brands include Just Jeans, Dotti, Jay Jays and Jacqui E.
Just's shares were up 12 percent at A$3.94 on resuming trade, after going on halt ahead of the announcement. ($1=A$1.09) (Reporting by Victoria Thieberger)
