TOKYO, May 26 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average fell 1 percent on Monday, led lower by exporters such as Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T) on a firmer yen and after U.S. stocks booked their worst week in three months on record oil prices, which stoked fears about inflation and weaker consumer spending.

As of 0001 GMT, the benchmark Nikkei average .N225 shed 136.22 points to 13,875.98. It closed up 0.2 percent on Friday.

The broader Topix index declined 1 percent to 1,363.60. (Reporting by Aiko Hayashi)
