UPDATE 1-Hartest says awaiting offer details from Elektron

* Elektron says considering possible offer for Hartest

* Considering offer at about 25 pence/Hartest share

* Hartest shares close down 8 pct

July 1 (Reuters) - Instrumentation and medical equipment supplier Hartest Holdings Plc (HTH.L) said on Wednesday it was awaiting further information from Elektron Plc (EKT.L) regarding the likelihood of a possible offer.

Earlier in the day, Elektron, an electronic components company, confirmed that it was considering a possible joint offer for Hartest with a third party and that the offer was likely to be in cash at or around 25 pence per Hartest share.

Elektron also said it had not made any decision regarding any offer and no approach had been made to Hartest.

Hartest said it was also awaiting the identity of the third party and the terms of the proposed offer.

Hartest shares closed down 8.33 percent to 25.5 pence on the London Stock Exchange while Elektron shares closed up 3.13 percent to 8.475 pence. (Reporting by Ramkumar in Bangalore; Editing by Vinu Pilakkott)
